The Lakes 10th -15th June

Just returned from a short break in the Lake District, the weather wasn't great for photography lots of low cloud and flat lighting then bright sunshine which clouded over after we patiently waited for two long hours to capture a sunset over Derwent water. Oh well that's the joy of being a photographer, and why it's so great when you do get to be in the right place at the right time! Better look next time I hope
I did manage to make the most of the weather, dodging the rain by spending the day shooting waterfalls & streams; I'm quite pleased with the results.

A highlight of the trip was capturing a beautiful red squirrel; I've never seen one in the wild let alone photographed one, quite an achievement as he was very fast and rather shy

I think Jo has decided to make the most of being a "photographer’s assistant" I managed to capture that rare breed of patient wife at 6.00am after she crawled out of bed at 5.30 to keep me company.

We stayed a lovely guest house in Grasmere, the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and breakfast was excellent and much appreciated after an early morning walk up the fells.
